Avian Influenza
1. Poland reported 11 H5N1 HPAI outbreaks in poultry and 1 in wild birds
On May 5, 6 and 8, Poland reported 11 outbreaks in poultry and 1 in wild birds of H5N1 HPAI in Greater Poland Voivodeship and 4 other locations, resulting in 1,754,000 poultry infected, 2,537 deaths, 707,000 culled, and 3 wild birds infected and died.
2. Montenegro reported 2 H5N1 HPAI outbreaks in poultry
On May 5, Montenegro reported 2 outbreaks of H5N1 HPAI in poultry in Plav District and one other location, resulting in 78 poultry infected and died.
3. Austria reported 2 H5N1 HPAI outbreaks in wild birds
On May 5, Austria reported 2 outbreaks of H5N1 HPAI in wild birds in Vienna State, resulting in 2 wild birds infected and died.
4. Belgium reported 1 H5N1 HPAI outbreak in wild birds
On May 5, Belgium reported 1 outbreak of H5N1 HPAI in wild birds in Wallonia, resulting in 1 wild bird infected and died.
5. Norway reported 3 H5N1 HPAI outbreaks in wild birds
On May 5, Norway reported 3 outbreaks of H5N1 HPAI in wild birds in Nordland County and one other location, resulting in 5 wild birds infected and died.
6. United Kingdom reported 6 H5N1 HPAI outbreaks in wild birds
On May 5, the United Kingdom reported 6 outbreaks of H5N1 HPAI in wild birds in Scotland, resulting in 6 wild birds infected and died.
7. Czech Republic reported 2 H5N1 HPAI outbreaks in wild birds
On May 6 and 7, Czech Republic reported 2 outbreaks of H5N1 HPAI in wild birds in Vyso?ina Region and one other location, resulting in 53 wild birds and backyard poultry infected, 49 deaths, and 124 culled.
8. Iceland reported 2 H5N1 HPAI and 2 H5N5 HPAI outbreaks in wild birds
On May 6, Iceland reported 2 outbreaks of H5N1 HPAI and 2 outbreaks of H5N5 HPAI in wild birds in the Southwest Region and one other location, resulting in 4 wild birds infected and died.
9. Denmark reported 3 H5N1 HPAI outbreaks in wild birds
On May 8, Denmark reported 3 outbreaks of H5N1 HPAI in wild birds in Hiller?d Municipality and 2 other locations, resulting in 3 wild birds infected and died.
10. United States reported 1 H5N1 HPAI outbreak in wild birds and 6 in poultry
On May 5 and 8, the United States reported 1 outbreak in wild birds and 6 in poultry of H5N1 HPAI in Georgia State and 3 other locations, resulting in 69 wild birds and backyard poultry culled, and among commercial poultry, 145 infected and died, and 181,000 culled.
11. Mexico reported 1 H5N1 HPAI outbreak in wild birds
On May 5, Mexico reported 1 outbreak of H5N1 HPAI in wild birds in Sonora State, resulting in 1 wild bird infected and died.
12. Mexico reported 3 H7N3 HPAI outbreaks in poultry
On May 5, Mexico reported 3 outbreaks of H7N3 HPAI in poultry in Jalisco State, resulting in 215,000 poultry infected, 24,000 deaths, and 1.198 million culled.
13. Peru reported 16 H5 subtype HPAI outbreaks in wild birds
On May 6, Peru reported 16 outbreaks of H5 subtype HPAI in wild birds in Arequipa Province and 5 other locations, resulting in 391 wild birds and backyard poultry infected, 517 deaths, and 478 culled.

1. Poland reported 1 Newcastle disease outbreak
On May 8, Poland reported 1 outbreak of Newcastle disease in Kuyavian-Pomeranian Voivodeship, resulting in 35,000 poultry infected, 4,276 deaths, and 31,000 culled.
2. Spain reported 1 Newcastle disease outbreak
On May 8, Spain reported 1 outbreak of Newcastle disease in the Valencian Community, resulting in 15 poultry infected and 20,000 culled.
3. Moldova reported 3 rabies outbreaks
On May 5 and 6, Moldova reported 3 outbreaks of rabies in C?l?ra?i District and one other location, resulting in 1 domestic dog and 2 wild red foxes infected and died.
4. Romania reported 2 rabies outbreaks
On May 8, Romania reported 2 outbreaks of rabies in Maramure? County and one other location, resulting in 1 domestic dog and 1 wild red fox infected and died.
5. Chile reported 1 equine infectious anemia outbreak
On May 5, Chile reported 1 outbreak of equine infectious anemia in Atacama Region, resulting in 1 horse infected.
6. Italy reported 2 lumpy skin disease outbreaks
On May 8, Italy reported 2 outbreaks of lumpy skin disease in Sardinia, resulting in 19 cattle infected, 1 death, and 204 culled.
7. United Kingdom reported 2 serotype 3 bluetongue outbreaks
On May 8, the United Kingdom reported 2 outbreaks of serotype 3 bluetongue in England, resulting in 2 cattle infected and died.
8. Mexico reported 7 New World screwworm outbreaks
On May 5 and 8, Mexico reported 7 outbreaks of New World screwworm in Tlaxcala State and 2 other locations, resulting in 2 cattle and 5 domestic dogs infected.
9. Botswana reported 2 SAT1 FMD outbreaks
On May 5, Botswana reported 2 outbreaks of SAT1 foot-and-mouth disease (FMD) in the South-East District, resulting in 2 cattle infected.
10. Greece reported 19 SAT1 FMD outbreaks
On May 7, Greece reported 19 outbreaks of SAT1 FMD on the island of Lesbos, resulting in 1,671 sheep and goats infected.
11. Libya reported 1 FMD outbreak
On May 8, Libya reported 1 outbreak of untyped FMD in Tripoli Province, resulting in 3 cattle and 4 sheep infected.
12. South Africa reported 263 SAT2 FMD outbreaks
On May 8, South Africa reported 263 outbreaks of SAT2 FMD in North West Province and 6 other locations, resulting in 6,141 cattle, domestic pigs and sheep infected, and 85 deaths.

1. Hungary reported 9 ASF outbreaks in wild boar
On May 5, Hungary reported 9 outbreaks of African swine fever (ASF) in wild boar in Baranya County and 3 other locations, resulting in 9 wild boar infected and died.
2. Moldova reported 2 ASF outbreaks in domestic pigs
On May 5 and 8, Moldova reported 2 outbreaks of ASF in domestic pigs in Ialoveni District, resulting in 5 domestic pigs infected and died.
3. Estonia reported 2 ASF outbreaks in wild boar
On May 6, Estonia reported 2 outbreaks of ASF in wild boar in Rapla County and one other location, resulting in 2 wild boar infected and died.
4. Italy reported 57 ASF outbreaks in wild boar
On May 6 and 8, Italy reported 57 outbreaks of ASF in wild boar in Emilia-Romagna and 2 other regions, resulting in 57 wild boar infected and died.
5. Spain reported 1 ASF outbreak in wild boar
On May 7, Spain reported 1 outbreak of ASF in wild boar in Catalonia, resulting in 9 wild boar infected and died.
6. Poland reported 52 ASF outbreaks in wild boar
On May 8, Poland reported 52 outbreaks of ASF in wild boar in West Pomeranian Voivodeship and 2 other locations, resulting in 112 wild boar infected and died.
7. Romania reported 7 ASF outbreaks in wild boar and 2 in domestic pigs
On May 8, Romania reported 7 outbreaks in wild boar and 2 in domestic pigs of ASF in Satu Mare County and 4 other locations, resulting in 7 wild boar infected and died, and among domestic pigs, 14 infected, 2 deaths, and 12 culled.
8. Bhutan reported 1 ASF outbreak in domestic pigs
On May 3, Bhutan reported 1 outbreak of ASF in domestic pigs in Samchi District, resulting in 32 domestic pigs infected and died.
